Academic assessment
As our children develop through phases of life their learning skills develop from basic functioning as a baby, to simple copying and repetition in primary school, to more advanced thinking at the high school level. During this development process, they need to adapt to more complex levels each year in their effort to become more independent.
We use academic assessment, also known as orthodidactical or scholastic assessment, to determine if your child has developed age-appropriate skills to be successful in their current grade of school. This assessment is completed for 4 to 6 hours and is adjusted according to the specific needs of your child. It can include cognitive ability, scholastic ability, scholastic potential, emotional development, visual-motor integration, and a neurological screening. A report with recommendations will also be provided, which will be discussed during a feedback discussion (normally lasting one hour).
