SCHOOL READINESS
As our children develop through phases of life their learning skills develop from basic functioning as a baby, to simple copying and repetition in primary school, to more advanced thinking at the high school level. During this development process, they need to adapt to more complex levels each year in their effort to become more independent.
We use school readiness assessments to determine if your child has developed age-appropriate skills to be successful in the first year of their school career. This assessment is completed for 4 to 6 hours and is adjusted according to the specific needs of your child. It can include cognitive ability, scholastic potential, emotional development, visual-motor integration, and a neurological screening. A report with recommendations will also be provided, which will be discussed during a feedback discussion (usually lasting one hour).
